I never felt it like this before  - the trippyness of the time difference on a US realm.  In Dath it was mainly Oceanic players, and maybe some shiftworkers from the US, or Americans stationed in an Oceanic time zone place.  Now as I write this,  the server clock on Blackrock has not long ticked past 12am.  It’s friday morning  – but it’s not.  For me its 7.25 Friday evening,   My friday morning is not yours, and your Friday Morning is not mine. and while there are an ever increasing amount of oceanic players drawn here,  out there in the pale light of the evening,  the dimmed skys of the server, and the darkness of the night,  out there are people who are in their Friday morning, and I am envious.  I have had my friday morning – and I now get to watch some of you experience yours.

I’m 790 Rep short of Exalted with the League of Arathor, which is realistically  close enough,  but I have a long way to go for Silverwing Sentinels.

Apparently working on 35 Rep a flag return and 23303 to go untill exalted   with the Sentinels thats  665.8 Flags I need or 221 WSG Wins ( 3 flags in a win) .

If I play all weekend on a WSG weekend I apparently get +10 more rep per flag -  

/sigh  my life will have to be WSG for  the next month or three.

Is it worth changing my race to human so I need 66 less flags? ( or there about)

Why would I do something so Insane?

I love Pvp.  If there was a title amongst all the titles that I felt meant something to me.  Justicar would be one that represented where a lot of my time and love and hate goes.   

How does something so repetitious still be enjoyable?   It could be the pesky pally that JUST WON”T DIE!  Or the Warlock that chains me and goes  *opps when I have fear warded, and I have dotted him to death for a change.  The hunter who sends his pet after me,   and forgets to resend after I have Shadow Melded and his pet runs off and then I kill him, the thrill of chasing flag carriers – dispel fear, dot – the thrill of being the flag carrier.  Dispel, fear,  heal trinket ” HALP!”  Yelling at people to get out of the middle.   That first time everyone heads to the flag room in WSG and  your part of a team! untill the rogue stealth, some go up the tunnel,  some up the ramp.  Some one starts the fighting in the middle.  levitating off LM to BS and hoping no one sees you in time for a ninja cap.  The sound of your bikes engines roaring as you ride through the crisp clean snow in AV and so on. 

I get more out of Pvp emotionally then a raid.   So getting the PVP title would be more meaningful to me then my current “Of the Nightfall”  which while sounds cool – was done by bugging out Sarth, and dps zerging .  – how is that an accomplishment?

I have a IPhone.  I love it.   I can see me having humongous issues with paying for App’s – I have a few I bought, it’s like.. I want that App – and that one  and that one..  and ohhh  you mean you can get an app with how many vibration settings? ( YES YOU CAN )   I did have a gander at the WOW related apps available – and I is there!  So I feel a little special – turns out the developer is a Aussie -  ( yes I did go to the trouble of looking it up)   So perhaps chance is a little biased

When I found myself in a Vent over this weekend where a long diatribe of the conversation were negative remarks towards women.  Not just one little comment,  but they were egging each other on,  each line more offensive then the other.  I could have sat there like a good little girl and taken it. Not bitten,  not reacted, not defended myself,  or reminded them that there were ladies in the channel and to rein the conversation in. I could have left the vent if I found it so offensive.  Did I stay silent?  No way. 

I turned an insult back on them, and I felt their hackles raised over the airways.   “So its ok for you to have a go at girls,  but you can’t take it if it’s directed to boys?” I asked – extremely outnumbered.

One guys excuse for their behaviour was that it was ‘normal’  – I had asked where all the gentlemen were because they certainly were not in this channel.

I don’t think I was out of line – for me not to remind them that they were being inappropriate would have meant that I was approving of  their behaviour,  and I think that people can need reality checks  – no one knows that they are doing something wrong unless they get told.

Did I go on a female lib rant?  No.  I didn’t need to,  I just needed to remind them that they were going to far.    Did it work?.  I think so,  they didn’t say anything further along that line as least while I was in the channel.

I got a pst from what I assume was the only other girl in the channel glad that I had stuck up for myself  – and I’d do it again,  because if that is what it takes to make it a more pleasant environment for me to play in,  then I am going to bite.  It doesn’t have to be an in your face  ”respect my authority” rant, but  I do believe  that standing up when things are not right, can be  as important as doing what is right. 

What are the chances that the people who pee me off in Bg’s read blogs?

So if your in Bloodlust - Yes you!  You might have pee’d me off at some point,  ( maybe I pee’d you off too)

If you tell people to give up.   If you go standing in a corner afk because “you have done your bit” and now you can’t be bothered. If you let the healer go get the flag, ( on her own)   and let her run it almost all the way back to the the tunnel ( still on her own)  in WSG all the while 9 other people are still fighting in the middle.  Make racist comments in chat because you think people fail.  Don’t wear Pvp gear and think it’s ok, and then complain why you die so fast. follow someone so no one notices that your Afk. Tell someone to drop the flag so you can pick it up in the middle of a group of horde players and then wonder why we lose it! Don’t cap lets honor farm them.  

^^ Yes that unsightly mess is intentional.  It’s all been said before,  nothing I will say or post will change peoples attitudes – I just needed to vent. 

I got to Bg with my friend from my old realm – (but same battlegroup ) last night,  in the same manner that the x realm premades are doing.  Entering next available at the same time, and checking to make sure we both got it. It was easy with two,  I wonder if it could be done with 3 or 4 people cross realms. 

He was a Pally  flag runner, and I was his healer.  It worked quite well  some of the time.  

I do think however  there needs to be a Bg add on that like a  ” Your standing in the fire” message  instead making it  ” Your fighting in the middle for longer then 30 secs” and a big MOVE!!!

One of the things that is drummed into people in these AV premades that I have been doing is the importance of being in the right place.  Not stopping to help people who chose to fight in the roads. ( Even Lol at them as we ride past)  They are distractions to keep us from the main objective.  The leaders voice is a constant reminder not to get stuck in tunnel vision.

I guess it’s easy to be caught in tunnel vision in a bg,   Rez jump off the cliff into the waiting horde. Die,  and do it all again.   As a healer your more likely to follow that crowd off the cliff because that’s where the people who need healing are, as a holy priest healer in a Bg the times I have gone off on my own breaking from this tunnel vision  I have failed to accomplish anything but another futile attempt at trying to get to their flag room without help. Appeals for people to get out of the middle, or for help fall on deaf ears. 

I have not forsaken my Shadow Spec, but I don’t seem to be putting out the damage in Bg’s as Shadow,  I am also chasing the 50k kill count achievement because it looks possible ( 8k left to go) and I am working on the theory that healers near the action get more Hk’s 

Also of note:  – I am guilded again,  only as a casual - I get to do my own thing – it works for me now, but I am feeling a little itchy at the idea of not having a raiding committment.  I am also blogging more – I guess that means I am happier – and or have more stuff to say..  

I have a vague recollection of watching the Mr T cartoon as a kid  ( I am showing my age)  however Mr T never crossed my mind at all when playing warcraft.  That was  untill ” I’m Mr T and I’m a Night Elf Mohawk ”  The mohawk was awesome!  – Hey we want mohawks! – and the male Night Elves got mohawks.  ( BUT NOT THE CHICKS! – WHERES MY NIGHT ELF MOHAWK! Eh..  Eh…  make my Shadow Priest just that little more of a bad Night Elf A$$… but I digress. )

Mr T was cool.   Ozzy was cool,  Mini Me was cool ect ect…  Kirk was…  um you get the picture.  Icons of their own time and era ect. It was great to see them in the Warcraft ads,  we giggled a little bit.

Once I tried to make it all about Xena, but the trend never caught on.

I do not remember Mr T being mentioned at all -  I still love the idea of the Night Elf Mohawk.  Really.   However I am confused why he  gets his own mohawk grenade as part of such as an auspicious occasion as the 5th anniversary.  Sure its still fun, but surely there have been others who have made a much bigger impact on the culture of the game

How much convincing would it take the others to get them involved.  Maybe their appearance fee’s were too high, or are there more suprises to come…

While waiting for a friend to finish a fail Toc 25 Run I logged into the vent of the premade AV group that we are seeing being organised a fair bit in trade channel.  Getting people from our Battlegroup, Bloodlust into a vent, and organising a premade by all getting into the same AV Queue.

I had never done it before,  and I was getting a little confused.

“If it doesnt pop for you get into  vent chat”  ?  Huh ?  Why?  and I see some peoples  name change on vent to ( C) in front..    Oh

I managed to follow them for one BG – and then failed by not understanding the bit about not entering untill we checked how many people didnt get it,  and  me  hitting enter BG when the wrong number popped for most people. So I left the vent, and  spent the next half hour in a fail AV.

I had another go later and it all made so much more sence.  I now knew what standing on the lamp post meant  ( to identify how many in the BG were pugs)  The strat was getting familiar and the premade raid leader shooting off commands like a machine gun.  The best leader was a Woman who I swear had the battle map engraved in her brain in real time.

These people were professionals.

    “Groups 1 & 2 go..   Recallers go now…   Get back on the choke point.  Don’t stand on fail hill  ( you know that hill outside drek that people always bounce around on while waiting to go into Drek – well that is fail hill and I will never stand on it again)   “Go left of Belinda its the fastest way Do not stop for anyone,  do not help anyone,  do not stand near the edge of a tower you will get pulled off and die ect.  “

It wasn’t about achievements, it was about maximizing honor, and was still a lot of fun  ( it’s always fun to win)

Does the fun of a BG change when it’s organised? – It was awesome to be involved in such a well orchestrated premade of that scale, and yes by being ‘lead’  we succeeded in every BG we went into,  firstly because we had firm leadership or more so a ‘leader’  that didn’t just post a strat on start up, and then not maintain control and also  that everyone in that channel was there to win, and willing and open to being lead.   If you didn’t do what you were told,  there was the threat of being kicked, and rightly so.  You are doing this premade to take instructions and contribute to the success of the group.    Any  gung ho - I’m gonna do what I want thing is a threat to that sucess.

On the down side the premade was imposing itself on the randoms that managed to slip in with us, and the sheer number of us,  meant that we were really playing our own game and they could either go along for the ride and win,  or they could try and fight against the maelstrom of our army.  Might this affect the enjoyment of their game?  It could.  Did we care?   Nope.

I don’t think I have ever been spoken to like that before on vent.

All I said was that if he stopped swearing so much then people may not be leaving his raid group.

It was a GDKP Ulduar run,  and I was going to see if I could pick up some healing offset gear cheaply because I had been rather slack at even having a basic set. ( am slowly fixing)   We wiped on Leviathon,  and I knew it was going to go bad when I tried to explain  ( over vent)  that I needed pyrite because a Pst didnt get a response.   So I tried to explain ” See this blue thing on our left.  I need you to pick that up with I think its a 4 or a 5 ” No response.  So Leviathon comes out in hard mode and no one has pyrite,  so no stacks.  Fun.  More people leave.

I am noticing in my pug runs that I am doing, the distinct lack of females vocal in any form on vent.   Come to think of it,  I have probably pugged 5 or 6 raids that used vent, and I have been the only girl who even says boo.  Pugging has been fun to see who and what is out there,  but it can’t be all rainbows and lollypops all the time. .

Just to show you I am actually wearing this thing.  ( see pic of Armory below.)   Shadowpriest.com ’s  Best raiding gear available list  places it at # 6 BIS and its a healing helm.  What I was wearing before was #11 Conqueror’s Cowl of Sanctification  and the actuall DPS Tier  9.5  ( 258)  is  # 14  and 9.25 # 19  It’s a joke!

* Yes I know I should have taken the Socket bonus,  but I need to fiddle round with some of my other socket bonuses  and if you work it out  +23  V +12sp+9sp + ( 0.34 x 10 )  = 24.4  I lose 1.4 Shadow Priest Psudo power  based on the stat ratings.  I am not too worried about that.  

My carefully hoarded trophy and my 75th badge from a GDKP run for my next piece of Tier Gear bought me  the  Velen’s Cowl of Triumph  ( 245 item level)

As soon as the 25 GDKP finished, and I was halfway through my 2nd flask  (the bidding took a while on some fights)  I found a 10 man Ony run to pug, and guess what.  I was the only priest and the Coronet of Transendence dropped. My  # 4 BIS.

So it’s really only a 4.6 odd Dps bonus on what I just paid /chanted and gemed for so it can stay in the bank untill 3.3 when I am sure the haste on it will make it a lot more higher rated stat wise.
