Effective Use of Vampiric Touch –

This I will be testing on Dr Boom – and recording my Combat logs because Im interested in Trying to find the most effective use of Vampiric Touch in a Shadow  and to get the Max Mana returns for the Party using a Priest Cast Sequence.
I’ve done this as a follow up to A Dwarf priests Post on Priest DPS of which awesome model was used. Priest DPS
I’ve done a Excel Screen shot ( with Pretty Colours as to a time period Graphical represention of a Standard Priest Spell Rotation.
Ive included the following
Global Cool down.
Casting Times.
Casting Cool downs.

1stly this is my 1st number crunch So I could be off on a few seconds on some things.
2 lines = 1 sec ( Some cast Times are .5 second intervals.)

Now prior to testing – These are the holes I can already find
Firstly what I can see is the best use of Mindflay in that Sequence is that its only used once. There is however a 1 sec ‘ wait ‘ time Where If I were to do another mindflay I wouldn’t be getting as much use out of the single Vampiric Touch Cast. I could use that break to Cast Star Shards

This isnt taking into consideration Lag – and any interruptions – and also realistically if I started off on that cast sequence my Agro would be through the roof – especially when raid buffed. But I shall test it on Doctor boom and see what happens.

EDIT: Coloum E is Mindblast  ( its referenced as Dark Purple but Chart is Brown.)

Oooo… interesting. Just one thing, though. The global cooldown is 1.5 seconds for us priests.

Oh.. mmm that means i don’t have 1.5 spare seconds.. because based on that 3 casts would abosorb the extra .5 which would mean there would also be no time for a 2ndmindflay after a 2nd Mindblast
